Players of the long-running MMO Final Fantasy XI will be able to pay for an upcoming content add-on from 23 March.
The add-on scenario, “A Crystalline Prophecy™ – Ode of Life Bestowing,” will be available for purchase on Monday but will not actually be accessible until early April. “A Crystalline Prophecy” is the first of three content add-ons booked for FFIX this year.
Square Enix gave a short description of the add-on:
“One day, a giant crystal appeared in the skies above Jeuno, triggering a series of unexplained happenings across the land. Now, adventurers will set forth to unravel the mysteries of this primordial crystal that holds the secret of Vana’diel’s past.”
The cost to players will be £7.99 GBP, €9.99 EUR or $9.99 USD. The further two add-ons will be named “A Moogle Kupo d’Etat™ – Evil in Small Doses” and “A Shantotto Ascension™ – The Legend Torn, Her Empire Born”. All three updates are created by Masato Kato who created the stories and scenarios for the original FFIX and its first expansion
