Men watching, as other men shove their heads against balls.

Remember when we said earlier that the demo for FIFA 14 would be out on 10 September? Yeah, well, it’s 10 September in Europe now, and the demo’s out. Which is slightly unexpected, considering it’s still the wee hours of the morning.

Peter reckoned that AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund would be in the demo, judging by the uniforms in the demo announcement screen, and being that he actually knows things about football, I’m going to believe him. I’d have suggested “will feature overpaid men kicking balls around a lawn”, but this is why I’m not allowed to review football games.

[Peter Edit]: Hello there – as well as AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, you can play as Boca Juniors, Barcelona, NY Red Bulls, Manchester City and a retrospectively Gareth Bale powered Tottenham Hotspur.

You can grab it on Origin right now, either directly through the client or by visiting this page and clicking the “Try FIFA 14 demo before you buy” text. Origin tells me it requires 1.95GB of hard drive space, although I’m not sure whether that’s just for the demo installer or if that’s the entire thing.

Thanks to Denis Hiza in our comments section for the tip. You can learn how to celebrate a goal properly in the demo with a newly released video over here.

Tim has been playing PC games for longer than he's willing to admit. He's written for a number of publications, but has been with PC Invasion - in all its various incarnations - for over a decade. When not writing about games, Tim can occasionally be found speedrunning terrible ones, making people angry in Dota 2, or playing something obscure and random. He's also weirdly proud of his status as (probably) the Isle of Man's only professional games journalist.
