As foretold by the prophets (or by an Origin news post, anyway) the FIFA 15 PC demo is now available. You can download it for free by heading to Origin’s “demos and betas” page within the client, or going over here which is essentially the same place.
The available teams to mess about with in the demo are: Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Barcelona, Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain, Boca Juniors and Borussia Dortmund. It’s a 2.5GB download.
According to yesterday’s Origin post about this, the demo should provide a reasonable test of how your PC will run the (new on PC for this year) Ignite Engine. If you’ve got a relatively recent gaming PC, I wouldn’t imagine you’ll have any trouble at all as these are the minimum required specs:
- OS: Windows V/7/8/8.1 -64-bit
- CPU: Intel Q6600 Core2 Quad @ 2.4Ghz
- RAM: 4GB
- Hard Drive Space Required: 15.0 GB
- Minimum Supported Video Cards: ATI Radeon HD 5770, NVIDIA GTX 650
- DirectX: 11.0
I’ll be taking a look at the demo myself to see whether there’s much depth to the PC graphics options. It’ll also be interesting to see if EA has fixed any of the somewhat annoying aspects of FIFA that they haven’t bothered to really address for about five years, like lofted through-balls being the key to all victories ever.
Here are my initial impressions of the demo, after a few hours play.
