The spud-faced nipper, still riding high.

I was fairly on board with the FIFA 15 top 50 up to this point, but I’m really not sure about putting Wayne Rooney above Thomas Muller and Sergio Aguero in the year 2014. This is the same Thomas Muller who scores for fun at Bayern Munich and was instrumental in Germany’s World Cup win, right?

Oh well, I don’t make the stats up. FIFA 15 thinks Wayne Rooney is the 23rd best player in the world and there’s nothing I can do about it.

Aguero is sat at number 24 (on the same overall score of 86, admittedly) and Muller is in 27th place. Ozil and Hummels from Germany’s World Cup winning side are in this latest set of ten players too, at 28th and 29th place respectively.

Neymar, meanwhile is back in at number 30. New Manchester United signing Angel Di Maria is number 25. To see all the individual stats for these players, including Yaya Toure (22) and Xavi (21) head over to the FIFA 15 page that’s keeping track of this top 50.

The final twenty players will be unveiled over the next couple of days. Expect to see 20-11 on Saturday, and the final top ten players on Sunday.

FIFA 15 will be released on 23 September in the US (25/26 September in Europe/UK.)
