Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will rise again in summer

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

The launch of Final Fantasy XIV back in September 2010 did not go well. In fact it went so poorly that Square didn’t even bill people for playing the MMO until about a year after its initial release. Clearly, it was time to rethink.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be the result of that rethink, and is due to launch this summer on PC. There’ll be a (third) closed beta session before that, in June. If you want to sign up for the chance to see if the game has become a lot better, you can do so here. The third closed beta will introduce the city states of Ul’dah and Limsa Lominsa to the game.

A Realm Reborn is promising a full graphical and user-interface overhaul, along with a wealth of other changes like a brand new server system and rezoning of the game’s maps.

Here are some new images from the title to tide you over.
