Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward director Naoko Yoshida has shared more details on how the flying mounts will work.

There are no limits on where you can take off or land, however, you will need to ‘attune’ to an area. Yoshida did not elaborate on what attune means, but it’s likely to be something like collecting a resource or some form of level progression. You also will not be able to fly in the older areas or the 2.0 areas.

The best part is you will be able to move freely across the X, Y, and Z axes.

Are you looking forward to using one of these flying mounts? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
