First Left 4 Dead 2 DLC Announced

Valve has announced “The Passing,” the first DLC pack for Left 4 Dead 2.The Passing takes place in a small town in rural Georgia, just after Left 4 Dead 2’s Dead Center campaign, and has players take the role of the Left 4 Dead 2 characters as they meet with the characters from the first game.Big news by itself, but it doesn’t end there – the campaign will also feature a new uncommon common enemy, a new melee weapon, and a new firearm. You’ll be able to play The Passing in the usual campaign format, but it will also function in Survival, Versus, and Scavenge modes, as well as introducing “a new co-operative challenge mode of play.””The Passing will become the most important campaign in the Left 4 Dead story, as all the Survivors are being called together in one campaign,” said Valve’s VP of marketing Doug Lombardi. “It will also be a huge offering of new gameplay content, with something new for every game mode plus a new uncommon common and weaponry.”The Passing is due out in early spring for both PC and 360. No pricing details have been announced, but we’re hoping it will follow traditional Valve update models and be free on PC, at least.Check out our Left 4 Dead 2 review to see why you should be excited at the prospect of more content for this blinder of a game.
