The Five Nights at Freddy’s series, responsible for more scientifically-induced scares involving animatronic nightmare beasts than almost any chain of novelty restaurants, will continue in a third installment.
Most fans probably already knew that Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 was on the way, but now there’s an additional teaser trailer and Greenlight page with a few more details. According to that page, this third game will take place 30 years after the closure of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. However, the building is now “Fazbear’s Fright: The Horror Attraction,” an authentic haunted house type experience looking to feed off the doughy crust and stodgy cheese of the Freddy Fazbear legend.
Very little has apparently survived, and the Greenlight page states that “The attraction now has one animatronic.” That’s an interesting development, because it may mean Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 will have a different structure to the prior two games. Or it’ll have some non-animatronic enemies too.
You can ponder that, and any other lore questions that might be floating around in your head, as you watch this somewhat unnerving teaser video.
