Forspoken: Final boss and endings guide

After a harrowing journey, you'll be able to face the final boss in Forspoken. This will be a multi-phase encounter where you'll use every ability at your disposal. But, before that, you do have to make an important choice. Here's our Forspoken Susurrus final boss guide to help you defeat this opponent and see the game's endings. Point of no return and alternate ending The point of no return in Forspoken occurs during Chapter 11: The Truth. First, you'll make your way to Tanta Olas' castle. Before you can obtain her Green Magic, Cuff will betray you, and he'll reveal himself as the entity known as Susurrus. You'll then have a long trek to familiar locations so Frey can reacquire her powers (even without Cuff). Eventually, Frey will meet her mother, Tanta Cinta. Screenshot by PC Invasion Cinta will create two portals. One leads back to New York so she can be reunited with her cat Homer (hurray!). The other, meanwhile, will allow her to help the people of Cipal, though she'll be trapped in the world of Athia. If you want to keep a manual save here, that's totally up to you. Assuming you decide to return to New York, you'll watch a very short cutscene where Frey is walking while carrying Homer. This is the game's happy ending (because she's with her cat, damn it!). Once the cutscene ends, you'll be back at the main menu. There's an autosave just before the point of no return, so you can opt to go through the portal to Cipal and tackle the final boss encounter. Screenshot by PC Invasion Cuff Susurrus Phase 1 Next up, Cinta will transform into a dragon and drop off Frey at Cinta. You'll fight a bunch of enemy mobs in the town square, and then reach the archives. Here, you can talk to a few NPCs, and even select different Spellcraft Challenges via the tome. When you're ready, leave the archives so you can go ahead with phase 1 of the Susurrus final boss battle in Forspoken. Frey will start the encounter on dragonback. Your goal here is fairly simple: Dracarys the heck out of the birds by holding the left mouse button. Pay attention to swarms of them and red flashes because that means they'll fly straight at you. Frey will take around 10 points of damage if she's hit, which is manageable, though you don't want to waste your potions this early. Screenshot by PC Invasion After turning the mobs into Jollibee Chickenjoys, there's a short cutscene where you have to press both left-click and right-click so Cinta can unleash her dragon breath burst. Unfortunately, your success is short-lived, as Susurrus just blasts her. Although Cinta is gone, she and the fallen Tantas all give their power to Frey. This leads to phase 2 of the boss battle. Forspoken Susurrus final boss and endings guide - Phase 2 Let's discuss second phase of the Susurrus final boss fight in Forspoken. Cuff Susurrus Phase 2 Phase 2 of the Susurrus final boss encounter in Forspoken has you fighting his "bird ball" form. You'll also gain a new spell called Skip (i.e., press the "G" key). It temporarily turns Frey incorporeal, letting you maneuver her while avoiding all damage. Likewise, Frey's damage and recharge are boosted for this fight. You'll want to watch out for the following: Holy Fire - Sends out dozens of fireballs that can be avoided. Stalagmite Smash - A small section of the ground will shake, and a stalagmite will erupt. Doom Quake - If you see the entire arena glowing, it's time to use your grapple to reach a rooftop. The ground will quake and multiple explosions will occur. Supernova - When your opponent is charging up, hide behind the obelisk to avoid damage. Mirror Image - After damaging the boss for a bit, he'll create multiple copies (more on this ability below). Beast Summon - At intervals (i.e., after defeating a Mirror Image), several enemy mobs will spawn. Your best bet when dealing damage to your opponent is by using ranged spells (i.e., Shot, Bolt, or Blast Slice). Another suggestion would be to use a spell that stays on-field for a prolonged period (i.e., Water - Maelstrom), since you can pop it underneath the boss to cause several instances of damage. Moreover, one moment you'll want to be wary off later in the fight is the Supernova when all three duplicates are alive. If you're out in the open, you can use Skip to negate damage while moving to the bottom of the temple steps. The building would completely block the beams. In any case, after taking out the last bird ball, it's time to head to phase 3 of this fight. Forspoken Susurrus final boss and endings guide - Phase 3 Let's discuss the last phase of the Susurrus final boss fight in Forspoken. Cuff Susurrus Phase 3 Phase 3 of the Susurrus final boss fight in Forspoken takes place in an underground arena. It's flat, open ground, which means there are no obstacles that you can use to hide. As the fight progresses (i.e., a short cutscene), Susurrus will have a different elemental vulnerability. He'll also gain new abilities: 100 to 75% HP (weak against fire): Sword Saint - A multi-hit melee combo. Holy Ray - A beam of light that travels in a straight line. Holy Fire - Sends out dozens of fireballs that can be avoided. Doom Quake - You can't climb on any platform, so you have to use Skip here. 50 to 75% HP (weak against water): Zoning Rush - Dashes around in a wide arc. 25 to 50% HP (weak against lightning): Tornado - Creates numerous vortices in the arena that will pull you in multiple directions. 1 to 25% HP (weak against earth): From A Distance - Your target is further away, which means you'll rely primarily on ranged spells. He'll also continue casting ranged abilities like Holy Ray. Electrocution - The entire arena will be covered in sparks of lightning. Use Skip to stay in mid-air for a short time. Eventually, you'll be able to fully deplete Susurrus' HP. Surprisingly, he's still got something left in the tank, and he'll blast Frey. The Tantas, will help the heroine, destroying the entity save for one fragment. This completes the Susurrus final boss fight in Forspoken. Forspoken Susurrus final boss and endings guide - True ending and post-campaign activities Let's discuss the true ending and post-campaign activities in Forspoken. True/bad ending Frey wakes up surrounded by Cipal's inhabitants. She manages to recover, but she knows that she won't be able to easily return to New York. She starts talking about helping others and that you're not alone. The scene switches to her cat, Homer, who misses his fur parent. While this is considered the true ending, I still feel it's a bad one since she can't be reunited with her cat. (That's just sad, right cat fans?) Post-campaign stuff I digress. Anyway, the credits will roll and a few pictures will appear showing the events that transpired (i.e., Frey laying a wreathe on the tomb of Cinta). After that, she has a chat with Auden, suggesting that she could join the council. And, finally, after another set of credits, you'll be back in the main menu. Your save will have a plus sign, implying that you've cleared the campaign. This isn't a New Game Plus mode, though. Instead, loading the spawns you in Cipal, where you can tackle a few detours/sidequests. Likewise, the rest of the map can be explored. Even better, it's revealed that a fragment of Cuff has survived, and he's still part of Frey. That means you can use Cuff Scan when exploring again.
