Fortnite’s early access sales are impressive

Epic’s Fortnite launched to the masses in early access form yesterday and so far the sales numbers have been quite impressive.

Although some players joined last Friday, the main launch day was yesterday and so far according to Fortnite’s creative director Darren Dugg, the game has shifted more than 500,000 copies.  He posted:

“Absolutely humbled by the response to this week’s launch. 500k+ digital pre-order sales and just getting started! Thank YOU.”

That’s a pretty impressive start for a game that is some way off from completion, it’s not due for release until next year. In the meantime, there is still work to be done on the game. Right now it’s a little too in your face with loot rewards and some of the way stats function could do with a good looking at. It’s been a good start but it’s by no means there yet.
