Fortnite Season 8 has introduced a range of new content, as is the norm. From the debut of donation boards allowing you to contribute to the war effort, to a new set of NPCs for you to interact with, the season has not been short on content. With that being said, some familiar faces have stuck around in Season 8. There are still multiple IO bases dotted around the island, where IO guards are roaming around. Also, Doctor Slone, who first joined the battle royale in Season 7, has stayed around for this season. Now, a new leak suggests that more IO bases and cosmetics could be on the way to Fortnite.
The prominent Fortnite leaker best known as HYPEX, shared some details about the alleged upcoming IO base and cosmetics. According to the leak, Epic Games is working on an unreleased IO spawn location and base. In addition, there is supposedly an unmasked version of the IO guards, as an unreleased Fortnite skin. For now, HYPEX has not given a specific date for the unreleased content to drop. They do highlight that we could see this release when Doctor Slone reaches the mysterious bunkers, within the next few updates.
Where could the Fortnite IO guards take us next?
As the IO guards have been in Fortnite for so long, it is no surprise to see a skin for them. If the IO guards do find themselves in the middle of the Fortnite Season 8 narrative, it will be interesting to see how it would play out. Without any confirmation from Epic Games, it is unknown for sure if we will see any more IO bases, or the roll out of IO guard skins, in Fortnite Season 8. HYPEX suggests this may not be released for a few updates yet, so it may be a while until we find out more.
