Fortnite update introduces gyro controls and flick stick on PC

Get to know the new Fortnite controller options.

Since the launch of Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 1, Epic Games has rolled out regular updates. New weapons such as the Machine Pistol joined the island as well as The Rock. However, the latest update has introduced more controller options to Fortnite with gyro controls and flick stick option. The gyro control options let you to control the camera by turning your controller. The main benefit to using gyro controls in Fortnite is that it can see you be more precise than the standard stick aiming. You can enable or disable these controls in the Touch and Motions tab in settings.

If you choose to use the gyro controls, there will be more options you can enable or disable. Naturally, Scope only will result in gyro being active when you aim down sights with scoped weapons. Using Scope or Aiming will apply gyro when aiming with any weapon. Then, Scope, Aiming, Harvesting will enable the controls when aiming with any weapon or when using your pickaxe. You can also choose for gyro controls to be constantly active and not dependent on any weapon. The Fortnite gyro controls do not stop there, as they can be applied to building. Editing will see gyro kick in when editing but not building, and Always will apply when either building or editing.

Fortnite gyro controls can be complemented by flick stick

Alongside gyro controls, you can now also use flick stick in Fortnite. With this enabled, pointing your right stick in a certain direction will cause the camera to quickly turn that way. If you have never used gyro controls before, flick stick may take some time to get used to.

Finally, the v19.30 update has removed the screen that asks you to select between Save the World, Battle Royale, and Creative mode. Instead, you will be placed straight into the lobby. To access Save the World or Creative, you can now find them on the Discover page.
