Fortnite fortnitemares 2022 werewolf horde mode

Fortnitemares returns for Halloween, letting you run wild as a werewolf in Fortnite

Awooo.

Halloween is just under two weeks away, and developers are beginning to dive into the holiday (erm) spirit by decorating their games with spooky festivities. Epic Games is bringing back the Fortnitemares event for Fortnite players, with tons of new events including the ability to turn into a monster. The Fortnite team describes it as a “wolf-like monster” with “wolf-like” abilities, but we all know what that means — it’s time to be a werewolf in Fortnitemares.

At the Reality Tree, DJ Lyka will help you party on and allow you to transform into a werewolf. While at the tree, stepping onto an “Alteration Altar” while performing the new “Ritual Emote” awards you the item, Howler Claws. With this item, you can turn into a werewolf and gain new abilities. The Wolfscent Ability will give you tracking vision, marking enemies in a nearby radius, and a new Slash Ability allows you to perform a melee attack with a four-hit combo. Finally, the Air Slash Ability allows you to perform a double jump that damages enemies as you land.

Horde mode is back

The werewolf festivities aren’t the only new feature coming to Fortnitemares. The Horde Rush mode is back, but with a twist this time. The Zero Build Horde Rush mode will challenge you to take down monsters, earn points, and finally defeat an ultimate boss without using any building. This mode will be available until November 15, allowing you to participate well after Halloween is over.

There are also quests you can complete that will allow you to earn XP and other surprising rewards. These quests will also give you access to the Everything’s End Glider, Chrome Cage Back Bling, and Unmaker Pickaxe. You can try out these quests until November 1.

The spookiest Fortnite event of the year will be available at the start of Version 22.20, so be sure to participate so you don’t miss out on the new rewards — like the unvaulted Candy and Pumpkin Launcher.
