Frostpunk is getting its final DLC expansion soon, and it’s titled On The Edge. Previously known as the mysterious TVADGYCGJR, the upcoming DLC was finally revealed by 11 bit studios, and will be set after the campaign. The trailer isn’t much to go on for now, but fortunately, 11 bit studios elaborated a little.
Unlike the previous Frostpunk expansion, The Last Autumn, which served as a prequel to the game, this DLC continues the story. It sets you up with new challenges and stories of an expedition that set out from New London with a special assignment. The survival city-builder’s campaign left on a grim note with temperatures dropping well under 200 degrees Fahrenheit. But despite overcoming that brutal storm, things are still far from over.
“The people face new challenges that are catalysts to spark up divisions, new problems, and conflicts based on the fact that people might have different points of view, different perspectives,” explains Maciej Sułecki, lead designer on Frostpunk. “This is the Edge that you will face as the leader of the society that survived the great snowstorm of Frostpunk.”

The DLC will, of course, feature a new scenario. And it will also introduce a new map, challenges, and mechanics. Frostpunk’s previous DLC already added a host of new features and mechanics to give the gameplay a different spin, so whatever 11 bit studios has cooked up this time, it’s bound to be interesting.
On The Edge is included in the Frostpunk season pass and can be wishlisted on Steam as well. The game, its expansions, and season pass also happen to be on sale as we speak, so if you haven’t yet, now is the time to dip. The expansion is planned to come out this summer, with more information coming closer to the release.
