FTL-esque post-apocalyptic adventure Convoy dated

Convoy, described as being inspired by both Mad Max and FTL, will hit Steam on 21 April.

Convoy has your spaceship crash-land on a desolate planet, and finding the parts to repair your craft will require you to venture into the dangerous (and randomly generated) wastelands in vehicles. Make decisions, fend off raiders, upgrade your vehicles, fend off three separate factions, and – maybe – survive. Maybe.

At its heart, Convoy looks to be a tactical roguelike. Combat takes place as a real-time car chase in which you’ll need to position your vehicles carefully to both damage your opponents and remain safe, and presumably, the way you upgrade and build your vehicles will change how you’ll have to fight. All of which sounds pretty great, but then I loved FTL and its own brand of real-time emergency management, so anything akin to that is going to make me go “Ooh.”

You can see the latest trailer below. Convoy is due out on 21 April.
