The Chasm Delvers quest in Genshin Impact might lead to a dead end initially, but there’s a way to get past your predicament. All you need to do is make things go boom! Here’s our Genshin Impact guide to help you activate the Mountainator Cannon as part of the Chasm Delvers quest.

Genshin Impact Chasm Delvers guide – How to activate the Mountainator Cannon
You should spot the Mountainator Cannon in Genshin Impact while you’re doing some tasks for Zhiqiong. Specifically, you’ll stumble upon it while rescuing a fella named Clitopho.
Back at the camp, Jinwu tells you that you need to find two keys to the gunpowder storehouse. Make sure the quest is tracked so you can see the marked locations on the map.
Location #1 – On top of a water distillery.
Location #2 – Go to the small nook that’s marked. There’s a tablet here that will explode when hit with a Geo attack. This will reveal the second key. Moreover, you can go through the tunnel with wind coming out of it. This will take you back to the overworld where you’ll find a Luxurious Chest.
Once you have both keys, go to the storehouse and open the gate. Defeat the Slime mobs and pick up the cannonball.
Return to the camp and talk to Clitopho. He asks you to craft 3x Unmoving Essential Oils. You can use the nearby alchemist’s table to make the items (each one requires 2x Frogs and 2x Cor Lapis).
Next, go to the spot where you’ve got a vantage point overlooking the devices. If you read the instructions, it’ll tell you that these devices require a particular frequency:
- The two that are closer to your spot need to be at a low frequency. This means the light has to pulse very slowly.
- The one that’s furthest away and on the ground has to be at a high frequency. This means the light needs to pulse quickly.
With that finished, go back to the Mountainator Cannon in Genshin Impact. Aim it so that it’s facing the opposite wall and lower its trajectory. Then, fire the artillery to destroy the obstacle.
The tunnel beyond has a Luxurious Chest. Likewise, it’ll take you to the Stony Halls where you need to activate a mechanism.
