After completing the tasks in Konda Village and the Abandoned Shrine, Kazari will tell you about the other corrupted areas that you can purify. One of these happens to be Chinju Forest, and it’s where you’ll meet several cute tanukis. Here’s our Genshin Impact guide to help you with the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual in Chinju Forest.

Genshin Impact Chinju Forest Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual guide
Use the closest fast travel point to Chinju Forest so you can get started with this sidequest. Once you arrive, you’ll hear a strange voice calling you. If you look around, you’ll see a dancing tanuki (raccoon dog). Moving close to it will make it disappear and respawn a short distance away.
Continue following it until you reach a clearing with several hilichurls. Take them all out so you can speak to the mischievous tanuki statue named Ioroi.
Next, it’s time to find the three tanukis that are nearby:
- Near a bunch of hilichurls.
- At the top of the steps leading to the statue.
- At the bottom of the steps.
Note: In some cases, you might need to use your Pyro abilities to light torches.
When you’re done, return to Ioroi who’ll give you the ward. Head to the marked location below the eastern cliff and the tanuki there will use magic to reveal a hidden section. Here, you’ll see the Chinju Forest puzzle that we need to solve for the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual.
Based on the pattern, here’s what we need to do:
- Pray – 1
- Top left and top right – 2
- Bottom left – 3
- Bottom right – 4
The elite Nobushi samurai will appear. Just eliminate your foe to complete the task. Kazari will then arrive and Paimon will express her doubts (i.e., seeing ghostly visions of her as well as her actual age/true identity). Kazari will play coy, but she’ll tell you to continue onward with your journey.
Don’t forget, there are still two more Sacred Sakura Cleansing Rituals. There’s one near Kamisato Estate and another in Araumi (which happens to unlock the underwater teleporter and domain near the Perpetual Mechanical Array). Lastly, when you’re done with all of these, it’s time to talk to Kazari to move on to the Yougou Cleansing finale.
