Genshin Impact: All secret Crimson Agate locations

Genshin Impact's Dragonspine region will have you collecting 80 Crimson Agates to empower the Frostbearing Tree. While a majority of these can be spotted in the wild, others are quite hard to find. Here's our guide to help you find the secret Crimson Agate locations. Note: For more information, check out our Genshin Impact guides and features hub. Genshin Impact: The secret Crimson Agate locations in Dragonspine For starters, I would suggest checking our Genshin Impact guide on the Frostbearing Tree and Crimson Wishes. This gives you the gist on how to activate the tree itself as well as its rewards. Now, regarding the Crimson Agates themselves, there are 80 for you to discover as you explore the Dragonspine region. The Frostbearing Tree can reach level 9 with these, but you'll need to do Crimson Wishes (commissions that reset every three days) for the remaining materials. As for the Crimson Agates that are in the wild, many could be readily seen on the minimap as you're roaming around, whereas some might be off the beaten path. Others, meanwhile, could be obtained if you break some Ancient Rime ice blocks, or when you do challenges, chest encounters, or totem puzzles that are also easily spotted. Likewise, several are found as you complete Genshin Impact's "In The Mountains" quest. This quest chain to unlock the Peak of Vindagnyr domain takes you all over Dragonspine, and many puzzles and destinations (even a magical pillar floating above the peak) provide you with Crimson Agates already. Anyway, let's talk about the ones that are very hard to find. You can refer to the pages below for Genshin Impact's secret Crimson Agate locations: The Wall Puzzle The Totems and the Gate Ragged Records and Prodigal Son's Return Feeding the Foxes and Lost in the Snow Beating the Great Snowboar King The Lonely Island The secret door in Starglow Cavern Eight stone tablets and the Snow-Tombed Starsilver claymore The Wall Puzzle You'll find the Wall Puzzle north of the Entombed City - Outskirts fast travel point. Here it is on Genshin Impact's map: Anyway, take note of the symbols you see on the wall. There are two sets: a set that looks like a torch (it's a bit triangular in shape) several that look like oblique boxes The goal is to activate one set of symbols first, then activate the second group. Just keep in mind that the wall symbols mirror what gets activated on those plates, too. After you've done this puzzle correctly, a chest will spawn. It contains a secret Crimson Agate. Anyway, let's talk about the puzzle involving the totems and the gate. The Totems and the Gate Head close to the southwestern portion of Dragonspine to find this location. Here it is on Genshin Impact's map: You'll see four Cryo totems here: one is on the ruined parapet another is on top of a rock formation two are on the ground After activating these with a Cryo skill, some Destiny 2 harpies will spawn (that's what I call them). Defeat them and interact with the switches. These will drain the water, allowing you to go down below. At the bottom, you'll notice a switch that can't be activated yet. Here are the steps: Destroy the weaker wall to reveal a secret Crimson Agate. Interact with the lever to open the gate. Get the buff from the Scarlet Quartz and break the Ancient Rime ice block inside the cavern. This lets you activate the first switch. Return to the Scarlet Quartz node and wait for it to respawn. Get the buff again and destroy the second Ancient Rime ice block to reveal a second switch. Activating the second switch opens a cage with a chest. The chest has another secret Crimson Agate. Oh, and as for the cage opened by the first switch, it has a piece of paper. Now, let's look for the other Ragged Records just like it. Ragged Records and Prodigal Son's Return You'll find the first portion of the Ragged Records from the totem and gate puzzle. After reading it for clues, activate your elemental sight (middle mouse button). Follow the energy trail going outside and it'll lead you to a hilltop with another piece of paper. The campsite you'll end up in also has a Crimson Agate that's marked on the minimap. Anyway, the clue from this camp tells you to head to where the mountain meets the sea. Here's the exact location on Genshin Impact's map: You'll spot a dilapidated boat here, though Broken Matt Hardy is nowhere to be found. That's fine since checking the last piece of paper reveals a chest. There's a secret Crimson Agate inside. Anyway, let's discuss the Lost in the Snow sidequest. Feeding the Foxes and Lost in the Snow While collecting Ragged Records, you'll come across some abandoned camps. Well, you'll be stumbling upon a few more while doing the Lost in the Snow sidequest. First, make sure you get the quest from Joel, the kid in the Adventurer's Camp fast travel point. The camp is at the fast travel point that's northeast of Dragonspine. After talking to Joel, just follow the quest markers which will lead you to the campsites of Joel's dad. The third and final campsite is found near Dragonspine's Statue of the Seven. Just turn around and go inside the cavern where the wind barrier used to be. Instead of heading further inside, look to your right and you'll see the final campsite. Joel's dad has left a note here and he mentions feeding the foxes, too. It might seem like a throwaway comment, but it's actually very important. If you check the nearby bowl, you can press "F" to place two berries here. Now, all you need to do is leave berries in the bowl each daily reset. You have to do this for five daily resets (skipping time doesn't work). On the fifth day, a chest and several foxes will appear. You'll get an achievement plus a secret Crimson Agate. All right, we're done here. Let's discuss the Great Snowboar King. Beating the Great Snowboar King The Great Snowboar King is an elite beast found in the Dragonspine region. Here it is on Genshin Impact's map: To spawn it, use a Pyro skill to melt the ice covering the boars, then go stab them. After killing all three, the Great Snowboar King will appear. Mind you, it surprised me when I first encountered it, so make sure you're well prepared. The Great Snowboar King has a regular ram attack where it charges towards you four times. After this sequence, it'll use an extra ability: Above 50% HP - It'll summon several boars that'll blast you with giant snowballs. Below 50% HP - Multiple red circles will appear on the ground and an avalanche of snow will start dropping on those spots. After beating it for the first time, you'll get a secret Crimson Agate. You can continue to fight it after each daily reset if you want to get more Chilled Boar Meat. You can also obtain a few achievements here: one by beating it normally one by beating it once it's berserk another by having your party wipe to it As an aside, you can also complete the "Ah, Fresh Meat" sidequest from Harris (found in the Adventurer's Camp). Harris will ask you for Chilled Boar Meat and he'll give you the Goulash recipe. Learn the Goulash recipe and make the dish (2x Chilled Boar Meat, 2x carrots, 1x tomato). Then, wait until 1800 to speak with Harris again. This will finish the sidequest netting you 4x Hero's Wit, 40x primogems, 5x Delicious Goulash, and 6x Mystic Enhancement Ores. Anyway, let's go ahead and visit the Lonely Island. The Lonely Island The Lonely Island, as the name implies, is a small island found further away from Dragonspine's landmass. Here it is on Genshin Impact's map: The location you see my character on is actually important. You can reach this spot by using the fast travel point near the Electro Hypostasis elite. From there, just make your way across the ridges and hills. Eventually, you'll reach this particular spot which has a Scarlet Quartz node. Destroy it and glide down to the Lonely Island. Break open the Ancient Rime ice block to reveal a hidden chest. Inside is a secret Crimson Agate. Anyway, let's take a look at the secret door in Starglow Cavern and the eight stone tablets.
