Genshin Impact Old Notes and New Friends – Dual Evidence and Duat Hall guide
At Paimon’s behest, you’ll explore more ruins hidden deep beneath the sands of Sumeru Desert. If you’re tracking the quest, the marker will appear right on top of the Dune of Magma, a location that’s in the southwestern corner of the map.
Inside the ruins, open the door to the right and climb up the steps. You’ll spot an ember there. Tag it and wait until the fan stops rotating so it doesn’t get blown away.
The ember will reach the large torch, giving you access to the room beyond where you’ll find a keystone.
Jump down the pit and move on top of the hologram plate. This will create a pedestal where you can grab a cell.
Run around the room so the spectral torches materialize. Light these up with Pyro to get loot from the chest.
Follow the tunnel until you come across a larger area. There’s a temple beyond but, before we get to that, you might want to open the chest above the steps.
To do this, move the cell at the left-hand side (while facing the temple entrance). It needs to travel a longer distance, so you can grapple to reach the opposite side. Move the cell here so that both can unseal the two Pyro totems at roughly the same time. Go light these with Pyro to access the chest.
Anyway, you’ll find yourself in the ruins of Duat Hall in Genshin Impact.
Paimon recounts some of the statements you’ve heard during your adventure. This will make an additional task pop up: Follow the stone slate’s guidance and obtain full clearance (0/3). If you open the Scarlet Stone Slate in your inventory, you’ll notice that there are more places you’ll have to go to:
- Place of Rebirth and Place of Swallowing are combined into a single guide since these are still in Duat Hall.
- Place of Breath, meanwhile, takes you back to Khemenu Temple, which has a pathway that leads to another underground temple.
By visiting these areas and completing the puzzles therein, you’ll gain full clearance for the Scarlet Stone Slate. This allows you to interact with switches and pedestals that were normally inaccessible before.
