Genshin Impact: Free Collei and The Unappreciated Carving guide

That was my kid's idea!

Collei is a new character added in Genshin Impact‘s version 3.0 update. You’ll meet her during the Archon Quest in Sumeru. Likewise, she can join your roster without ever requiring a single wish/pull. Here’s our Genshin Impact guide to help you get your free Collei as part of The Unappreciated Carving quest.

There are a couple of requirements if you want to get your free Collei in Genshin Impact:

  • Reach Adventure Rank 35
  • Complete The Black Serpent Knight’s Glory (Archon Quest Chapter 2 – Act 4).

Thankfully, it’s possible to skip these entirely. Simply open the event panel and check the “Graven Innocence” tab. You can then click on the “Quick Start” option to begin. Be forewarned, however, that you might be prevented from progressing further if certain characters are part of active quests.

Anyway, let’s say that you do have The Unappreciated Carving quest already. All you need to do is make your way to Port Ormos at the southern tip of Sumeru. You can do this while freely exploring, or hit two birds with one stone if you’re also in the middle of the Port Ormos tasks.

Go to the objective marker to see two merchants who have a problem. It seems their Aranara sculpture isn’t up to snuff, and most kids don’t want it.

You’ll then need to find a storyteller by the name of Tanger. Head back to the outskirts of Gandharva Ville where you’ll find Collei with a kid named Razi. Razi admits that he’s Tanger’s son, and he agrees to take you to him.

Note: At this point, your free Collei in Genshin Impact is already unlocked. You can continue the rest of the quest since the steps are fairly straightforward.

Upon conversing with Tanger, you’ll discover that his storytelling methods are mediocre at best. You’ll also spot Collei leaving notes in a tree hollow, causing Tanger to believe that they’re messages from Aranara. Afterward, Razi will reveal that all the ideas for the stories came from him, and he’ll also agree to help the merchants in Port Ormos.

As the NPCs leave, you’ll receive the Exquisite Kamera. This gadget is akin to the regular Kamera in that it doesn’t actually pause the game to activate Photo Mode. Instead, it just shows some details about the mobs, and it can only be used while in Sumeru.
