Genshin Impact: How to defeat the Jadeplume Terrorshroom

Angry Birds

The Jadeplume Terrorshroom is a boss that’s been added as part of Genshin Impact‘s version 3.0 update. It’s not a particularly tough fight, and there’s even a way to cheese the encounter so that it barely attacks you. Here’s our Genshin Impact Jadeplume Terrorshroom guide to help you with the battle, as well as the Majestic Hooked Beak and Nagadus Emerald drops.

Where to find the Jadeplume Terrorshroom

To find the Jadeplume Terrorshroom in Genshin Impact, you’ll need to head to the northwestern edge of Sumeru (well past Vanarana). If you’re gliding from a fast travel point that’s higher up, you should see a portal in mid-air. Alternatively, you can also follow the road that leads to a clearing. There’s a bouncy mushroom here that you can jump on, as well as a grapple point, that allows you to pass through the portal.

The Jadeplume Terrorshroom boss fight and cheese

The Jadeplume Terrorshroom does have several unique abilities. However, these are easily dodged. Moreover, trying to explain them would be unnecessary due to how the mechanics work:

  • Scorched (Pyro and Dendro) – If you don’t want to prolong the fight, don’t bother using Pyro on the boss. It causes the Scorched state, whereupon it’ll spawn floating mushroom mobs that lob projectiles your way.
  • Aggravated (Electro and Dendro) – Instead, you’ll want to hit it with a Dendro attack, followed by an Electro ability. This causes it to become more Aggravated (symbolized by a small circular meter to the right of its health bar).

When that meter is full, the boss will do one of three “super” attacks. It can either charge a couple of times, swing its head around in an arc, or cast homing projectiles. All of these are easily avoided.

But, the reason why you want to force the Aggravated status is that it will become exhausted after its “super” move. This allows you to nuke it with ease, since it’ll be stunned for almost 15 seconds.

Defeating the Jadeplume Terrorshroom in Genshin Impact nets you a couple of important items:

  • Majestic Hooked Beak – This ascension material is used by Tighnari and Collei, and will probably be required by most Dendro characters in the near future.
  • Nagadus Emerald – This is another ascension material for Dendro characters. The good news is that you can use the Alchemy Table to convert other gems that you don’t need into this.
