Genshin Impact: Kujou Sara guide -- Weapons, artifacts, and talents

Kujou Sara is the leader of the Tenryou Commission's forces, and also one of the Raiden Shogun's most trusted generals. This 4-star character who wields a bow and the power of Electro can join your Genshin Impact roster as part of the version 2.1 update. Here's our Genshin Impact Kujou Sara guide to help you with her best weapons, artifacts, talents, and build. Genshin Impact Kujou Sara guide: Best weapons, artifacts, and talents I've divided our Genshin Impact Kujou Sara guide into several sections. You can refer to the pages below for the parts that you need help with: Talent priorities, passives, and constellations Best weapon Best artifact sets Character ascension materials Gameplay tips and character summary Note 1: Information about Kujou Sara has already been leaked and data-mined ahead of release (i.e., you can see this listed via Honey Hunter World/Honey Impact). Note 2: Kujou Sara joins the Raiden Shogun in the "Reign of Serenity" wish banner. It turns from September 1 to 21. Genshin Impact: Kujou Sara's talent priorities and passives Let's talk about Kujou Sara's build based on her talent priorities and passives. Normal Attack: Tengu Bowmanship - This determines the damage dealt by Kujou Sara's normal, charged, and plunging attacks. Her charged attack also has a special shot when in the Crowfather Cover state (explained below). Tengu Stormcall (elemental skill) - Kujou Sara does a backstep, then she enters the Crowfather Cover state: Crowfeather - When she fires a fully-charged shot, it will end the Crowfather Cover state. However, this shot will spawn a Crowfather at the target's location. Tengu Juurai: Ambush - After a short while, the Crowfather deals Electro damage and creates a small AoE field. The active character standing on this field will gain an ATK bonus based on Kujou Sara's base ATK stat. The buff itself lasts for six seconds, and the skill has a cooldown of 10 seconds. Subjugation: Koukou Sendou (elemental burst) - The burst itself has a 20-second cooldown after being used. Still, there are a couple of facets to take note of here: Tengu Juurai: Titanbreaker - This is a massive Electro AoE explosion after the burst is cast. Tengu Juurai: Stormcluster - The explosion spreads into four ruptures that also deal AoE Electro damage. The Tengu Juurai procs (Titanbreaker, and Stormcluster) provide the same ATK buff as Tengu Juurai: Ambush, but these effects don't stack on top of each other. Their effects and duration are determined by the last Tengu Juurai proc that occurred. Simply put, Kujou Sara can be considered as an "Electro Bennett" in that she'll provide a damage buff (i.e., the Tengu Juurai procs) based on her base ATK. However, the duration of these buffs is fairly short at only six seconds. Note: Kujou Sara's talents require Elegance booklets (from the Violet Court domain every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday), as well as Hilichurl masks. At higher levels, her talents require the Ashen Heart dropped by La Signora. Passive talents: Land Survey - -25% time required for Kujou Sara to complete an expedition in Inazuma. Immovable Will - -60% charge time for aimed shots when in the Crowfather Cover state. Decorum - When Tengu Juurai: Ambush hits enemies, Kujou Sara will provide 1.2 energy for every 100% energy recharge stat that she has. Constellations C1: Crow's Eye - When Tengu Juurai abilities grant ATK bonuses or hit enemies, Kujou Sara's elemental burst cooldown is decreased by one second. C2: Dark Wings - Using your elemental skill leaves a weaker Crowfeather that does 30% of its damage. (This means you no longer need to do an aimed shot to trigger the ATK buff.) C3: The War Within - +3 levels for your elemental skill; maximum level is 15. C4: Conclusive Proof - The elemental burst now has six Tengu Juurai: Stormclusters that spread outward. C5: Spellsinger - +3 levels for your elemental burst; maximum level is 15. C6: Sin of Pride - Characters who've had their ATK buffed by Tengu Juurai procs will have the crit damage of Electro attacks/abilities increased by 60%. All right, let's go to the next part of our Genshin Impact Kujou Sara guide to talk about the best weapon options for her. Genshin Impact: The best weapon for Kujou Sara Let's discuss the best weapons in Genshin Impact for Kujou Sara. Skyward Harp (crit rate) - To clarify, the reason why the Skyward Harp is listed here isn't just because of the sub-stat or perk. Rather, it's because the Skyward Harp provides Kujou Sara with the highest base ATK stat out of all the 5-star weapons in Genshin Impact (i.e., 674 ATK at level 90). Sacrificial Bow (energy recharge), Alley Hunter (ATK), and Blackcliff Warbow (crit damage) - Remember, base ATK only increases via Kujou Sara's character level and the weapon that you use. As such, we're going with these 4-star weapons that have 565 ATK at level 90: The Sacrificial Bow (from gacha wishes) is great because of the energy recharge sub-stat and the chance to reset your elemental skill's cooldown. Alley Hunter (from gacha wishes), meanwhile, increases Kujou Sara's damage when she's not on the field. She will likely be a burst DPS or support character, meaning you'll swap her in when you need to pop her ultimate or get the ATK buff. That means she'll gain the boosts from the Alley Hunter's perk from time to time. Finally, the Blackcliff Warbow (from Paimon's Shop) is another okay alternative due to the crit damage sub-stat. Likewise, you'll probably end up killing foes via the elemental burst, which ensures that Kujou Sara gains an ATK% (not base ATK) increase. The only downside is that you'll bring another character in if she's in a quick-swap team comp. Other options: The Stringless (elemental mastery), Prototype Crescent (ATK%) and Hamayumi (ATK%) - Unfortunately, these weapons have significantly lower base ATK stats at level 90. The Stringless (gacha wishes) and Prototype Crescent (blacksmith) only have 510 ATK. Meanwhile, the Hamayumi (from Takashi's Mysterious Conches), has a measly 454 ATK. The Stringless has a slight edge here simply because it increases your elemental skill/burst damage. Anyway, let's go to the next part of our Genshin Impact Kujou Sara guide to talk about the best artifacts that we can use. Genshin Impact: The best artifacts for Kujou Sara - Emblem of Severed Fate vs. Noblesse Oblige Let's discuss the best artifacts in Genshin Impact for Kujou Sara. 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate: 2-piece bonus – +20% energy recharge. 4-piece bonus – Increases the damage of your elemental burst by 25% of your energy recharge rate. You can gain a maximum of 75% bonus damage in this manner. The Emblem of Severed Fate comes from the Momiji-Dyed Court domain, and it can be considered as one of the best artifact sets for Kujou Sara in Genshin Impact. We're looking at boosts to her energy recharge rate (so she can get her burst back more often), and a boost to the burst itself. Given how the burst grants an ATK buff as well, we're definitely going to need it. 4-piece Noblesse Oblige: 2-piece bonus - +20% elemental burst damage. 4-piece bonus - Using an elemental burst increases all party members' ATK by 20% for 12 seconds. The Noblesse Oblige from the Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern is also a good alternative. This is a Bennett-esque approach that's more straightforward. Artifact stats: Here are the ideal artifact rolls for Kujou Sara: Main stats – Crit rate or crit damage for the circlet; energy recharge or ATK% for the sands; Electro damage for the goblet. Sub-stats – Crit rate/crit damage, ATK%, and some extra energy recharge too. In any case, let's go to the next part of our Genshin Impact Kujou Sara guide to talk about her character ascension materials. Character ascension materials Kujou Sara’s character ascension materials can be found all over Teyvat. Here they are: Hilichurl Masks - Dropped by Hilichurl mobs. Vajrada Amethyst - Dropped by the Electro Hypostasis and Thunder Manifestation; purchased from Souvenir Shop; higher-tier versions can be crafted by an alchemist NPC. Finally, let’s talk about what you can expect when Kujou Sara is part of your Genshin Impact team. Gameplay tips and character summary We’ve discussed Kujou Sara's weapons, artifacts, and talent priorities in an in-depth manner already. So, is she a viable member of your team? Players are already thinking that Kujou Sara will be akin to an Electro Bennett. She'll rush in to give characters a buff based on her base ATK. However, there are a few differences: Her elemental skill and burst have Tengu Juurai procs that trigger the ATK buff. The duration of this buff is fairly short (six seconds for Kujou Sara versus 12 seconds for Bennett). Although the Tengu Juurai buffs don't stack, they can be cast in sequence to trigger the ATK buff. She can be flexible with certain team comps or playstyles (i.e., snapshot, sustained, quick-swap, and the like). The biggest downside is the buff duration since it can cause messy rotations. In some cases, those six seconds would elapse before you can even swap to the third character in your rotation. As such, you'll have to go back to Kujou Sara for her burst which will provide new instances of the Tengu Juurai ATK buff. Long story short: Kujou Sara is a more complicated Bennett. But, hey, if Bennett is already part of Team 1 in Spiral Abyss, then Kujou Sara can be your booster for Team 2. In addition to the above, what's looking good is her "C2: Dark Wings," which will make the buff trigger instantly since you don't need to do an aimed shot anymore. Also, there's her "C6: Sin of Pride" constellation. The additional 60% crit damage increase to Electro damage when characters gain the ATK buff is no joke. This makes her an ideal support for the Raiden Shogun (similar to her actual role in the story), Beidou, or Keqing. However, trying to get her to C6 can be downright expensive, too, even if she's a 4-star character. Genshin Impact is available via its official website.
