Well, this ain't a cookie-cutter build.

Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu guide – Talent priorities and passives

Recommended Videos

Let’s talk about Kuki Shinobu’s build in Genshin Impact based on talent priorities and passives.

Normal Attack: Shinobu’s Shadowsword – This talent improves the damage of normal, charged, and plunging attacks. This won’t be a priority if Kuki is only in a supporting role. However, you can consider this if you want to try a Physical carry build.

Elemental Skill: Sanctifying Ring – This spawns an Electro ring – the Grass Ring of Sanctification – around the active character, while also depleting Kuki Shinobu’s HP. Electro damage is dealt to nearby enemies periodically, and the active character is also healed based on Kuki’s max HP. This will likely be your priority for both healing and off-field DPS.

Elemental Burst: Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite – Creates an AoE field on the ground, dealing Electro damage to all hostiles that step foot in it. If Kuki’s HP is below 50%, the field will last longer. If you’re going for a support/off-DPS build, then this is another priority.

Note: Kuki Shinobu’s talents require Elegance booklets from Violet Court (Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday), as well as Spectral Husk/Heart/Nucleus from Specter enemies. At higher levels, she needs the Tears of the Calamitous God from the Raiden Shogun weekly boss encounter.

Passive Talents

  • Protracted Prayers – +25% more rewards when dispatched to an Inazuma Expedition.
  • Breaking Free – +15% healing bonus as long as Shinobu’s HP isn’t above 50%.
  • Heart’s Repose – Elemental mastery adds a boost to Shinobu’s Sanctifying Ring elemental skill:
    • Healing amount is increased by 75% of EM.
    • Damage dealt is increased by 25% of EM.

Constellations

  • C1: To Cloister Compassion – +50% increase to the elemental burst’s AoE field.
  • C2: To Forsake Fortune – +3 seconds to the duration of the elemental skill.
  • C3: To Sequester Sorrow – +3 levels for your elemental skill; maximum level is 15.
  • C4: To Sever Sealing – When attacks hit an enemy affected by the elemental skill, it will create a mark that deals AoE Electro damage based on 9.7% of Shinobu’s max HP.
  • C5: To Cease Courtesies – +3 levels for your elemental burst; maximum level is 15.
  • C6: To Ward Weakness – This essentially acts as a free revive, as lethal damage won’t take her out instantly. Instead, she’ll only be at 1 HP. Likewise, when her HP is below 25% she’ll gain 150 elemental mastery for 15 seconds. These procs can only trigger once every 60 seconds.

To be fair, it’s a lot easier to get Constellations when it comes to 4-star characters. Your best bet here is to reach C2 for “To Forsake Fortune,” as that provides a nice DPS/healing output due to the extra elemental skill duration. Anyway, let’s go to the next part of our Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu guide to talk about the best weapon options for her.
