Day 1 quests and The Illumiscreen II bug
Two of the mini-quests don’t have any issues, so you can get these completed quickly.
Where The Light Wanes
Since you just finished “Wangshu Once Again,” you might want to do this mini-quest. It involves talking to Smiley Yangxiao and Verr Goldet in Wangshu Inn.
Then, you’ll head to the forest outside to play hide-and-seek with the ghost child. You’ll be done with this part after placing the Xiao Lantern on the tree.
Promises Remembered as Lanterns Rise
Speak to the guard and he’ll tell you to look for three Xiao Lanterns all over Genshin Impact‘s Liyue region.
These are all marked on the map, so you shouldn’t have any worries. Return to the guard when you’re done.
The Illumiscreen II
Like the previous Illumiscreen task, The Illumiscreen II will have you rotating the lanterns until you complete an image of Mora.
Rotate the middle lantern first until you see the Mora symbol. Then, rotate the right lantern until it’s aligned. Finally, rotate the left lantern (which is the only one that can be moved independently) until the image is complete.
Once you inspect the image, the three treasure chest locations will be marked on Genshin Impact‘s world map.
One location has a challenge with a 20-second timer. You need to use the wind current to reach a floating platform, then quickly shoot an exploding barrel with your bow. This will destroy all the other barrels, completing the challenge and unlocking the chest.
Another location has a chest surrounded by a wind barrier. Simply look for the three Seelies floating around:
- The first is surrounded by thorny bushes. Burn these with Pyro.
- The second is across a body of water.
- Lastly, the third Seelie is close to the broken bridge.
Once the Seelies have reached the pedestals, you can ride the wind current to open the chest. Additional chests will also spawn.
As for the last location, well, sadly, it’s bugged. This area has a few mobs (hilichurls, mitachurls, and an abyss mage). Beating them should spawn the chest.
Unfortunately, you don’t get anything. This means The Illumiscreen II can’t be completed at this time.
Don’t worry, though, because it seems miHoYo is already aware of the issue. We might see it get fixed in a short while.
Update: After a couple of hours, the bug has been fixed. You’ll be able to finish The Illumiscreen II mini-quest now.

In the “Lantern Rite” event world quest “The Illumiscreen: II,” the treasure in Minlin cannot be dug up, thus preventing the completion of the quest objective.
