The Misty Dungeon has returned in Genshin Impact. Compared to its iteration back in May, this one is a lot more streamlined. Here’s our Genshin Impact Misty Dungeon – Realm of Light guide to help you with the objectives and trials for this event.

Genshin Impact Misty Dungeon – Realm of Light guide
Many of the core concepts in the Misty Dungeon event in Genshin Impact have been retained for this version 2.3 event. As of now, there are two trials available, each with its own set of enemies, modifiers, and rewards. Each trial also has a selection pool of characters:
- Thundershock Trial
- Raiden Shogun, Childe/Tartaglia, Kujou Sara, Barbara, Sucrose, Xingqiu, and Beidou.
- Triggering the Electro-Charged reaction helps restore the party’s energy and reduces burst cooldowns. Electro-Charged damage is also increased when you complete Plunder challenges.
- Freezing Trial
- Ayaka, Mona, Diona, Barbara, Xingqiu, and Kaeya.
- When characters attack Frozen opponents, their damage is increased; can be further increased by completing Plunder challenges.
Note: The characters here are pre-leveled, with preset weapons, artifacts, and talents.
Runes and challenge markers
Runes have a bright beam of light denoting their location. Activating them will lead to an encounter against hostiles. Similarly, you’ll find two types of challenge markers:
- Plunder – Completing these encounters will increase the damage effect of the Ley Line Disorder/modifier.
- Rejuvenation – Heals and revives all party members.
Lastly, there are also defense turrets found in various rooms in the arena. These won’t be major threats, and you should be able to manage if you brought a healer.
Encounters and elemental reactions
Runes and challenge markers have relatively simple fights. After activating the runes, you’ll simply head to the central pit for the final encounter.
For the most part, the Misty Dungeon – Realm of Light event in Genshin Impact has two tasks that will net you rewards. The first is when you finish a dungeon run, and the second is when you trigger around 20 elemental reactions. For the Thundershock Trial, you’ll want Electro-Charged; for the Freezing Trial, you’ll want to keep enemies Frozen. These are fairly easy to do as well.
