Genshin Impact Place Of Breath Dual Evidence

Genshin Impact: Place of Breath and Sekhem Hall guide

I honestly thought Atheon from Vault of Glass would suddenly spawn.

Once you arrive in the ruins of Duat Hall in Genshin Impact, Paimon will offer some clues. It seems we’ll need to obtain full clearance with the Scarlet Stone Slate, which is done by visiting three areas. Here’s our Genshin Impact Place of Breath and Sekhem Hall guide to help you with the puzzles as part of the Dual Evidence quest.

Genshin Impact Dual Evidence quest – Place of Breath and Sekhem Hall guide

From Khemenu Temple to Sekhem Hall

It’s going to be a long trek before you reach the Place of Breath in Genshin Impact. Make sure you view the Scarlet Stone Slate in the quest items tab so you can select the location and track it, causing an icon to appear on your screen.

First, we’ll start out in Khemenu Temple teleporter. Follow the marker as you run along the narrow corridors. Eventually, you’ll stumble upon your first puzzle:

  • Destroy the rocks to reveal a pedestal.
  • Rotate the cell to unlock the ember and open the door. If you attempt to make the ember move, the fan will destroy it since it gets activated when the beam rotates to the right. Having the ember go past it requires perfect timing, which can be a little annoying.
  • If you want, you can go outside the room to pick up the keystone. This lets you spawn another crystal that blocks the beam’s activation of the fan.

Across the chasm is a red barrier which we won’t go to yet. Instead, continue following the ember down the winding tunnels (you’ll even come across an obelisk).

Eventually, the ember will reach a pedestal overlooking the massive Sekhem Hall in Genshin Impact, the location of the Place of Breath.

While Atheon from Destiny‘s Vault of Glass raid doesn’t spawn here, you do have a bunch of stuff to do.

Totems and beams: Water level, Dendroculus, and treasure chest

Follow the ember as it floats to the opposite side. Soon enough, it’ll dive straight underwater. You won’t be able to reach it, so go to the ledges with the cells/pedestals. You’ll notice that there are six pedestals in total (three on the left and three on the right). Looking at the opposite side, you’ll also see six totems. You’ll have to move cells from the left and right sides until you get matching beam/totem elements. Here’s the gist:

  • 2x Electro – Spawns a chest that appears to be floating in mid-air. Defeat the robot enemies and walk on the hologram floor to open it.
  • 2x Anemo – Creates a wind current that lets you grab the Dendroculus high up.
  • 2x Hydro – Lowers the water level.

Luxurious Chest and other loot

With the water fully drained, jump down to the bottom. Follow the original ember until it reaches the torch. As for the second ember, there’s a pedestal on the opposite end. I’m not sure how I removed the seal, but here are a couple of tidbits:

  • Defeat the Primal Construct: Repulsor bot that’s nearby. It will drop a Glinting Component quest item.
  • Complete the time-trial challenge by collecting all particles. Make sure that both beams from earlier are hitting the Anemo totems so that the wind current is still around.

The pedestal should be unlocked, and you can get the ember to follow you to the large torch. This will let you open the Luxurious Chest and the two others next to it.

Other embers and Scarlet Stone Slate upgrade

Our main objective in the Place of Breath in Genshin Impact is the clearance upgrade. That means looking for more embers. You’ll find one in a room that’s on the top floor. Keep following it and watch out for fans.

As you’re roaming around, you’ll soon spot another pedestal with an ember. Now, you’ve got two. As for the third and final ember, it’s actually in the other room. Ride the elevator there to see the ember in a smaller nook.

Once all three have reached their respective torches, the mechanism will be activated, giving you a clearance upgrade for your slate. With these tasks completed, it’s time to go back to Duat Hall where we’ll activate a giant device to reach Aaru.
