The Purification Device and Data Collection

Once the next daily reset rolls around, a notification will pop up telling you to return to Xavier.

The scholar says that he’s making a “Purification Device,” but he needs you to find 3x Crystal Marrow. The material itself can be found on Yashiori Island, Inazuma’s westernmost landmass.

Unfortunately, I didn’t plan on collecting a lot of Crystal Marrow just yet, so I’m uncertain about farming routes. Still, your clue is the name of the item itself. Yashiori Island is littered with enormous dragon bones, and you’ll find Crystal Marrow nodes near these spots (seen in the image below). Return to Xavier once you’ve got three chunks of the item to complete this phase. He tells you that he has to prepare for the next step, so it looks like we’ll need to wait for another daily reset.

Update 1: After yet another daily reset, Xavier will give you the “Data Collection” step of the Tatara Tales quest in Genshin Impact. All you need to do here is grab the beacons that you placed during “Priority Investigation” and bring them back to Xavier. Don’t worry because the spots will still be marked on your map.

Update 2: When you finish this and another daily reset comes and goes, Xavier will ask you to take more photos as part of the “Process is Everything” step. Let’s go to the next part of our Genshin Impact Tatara Tales guide.
