Ideal characters to have in your party
Choosing the characters to bring to a Theater Mechanicus 2.0 match in Genshin Impact will truly depend on your roster. You can’t damage enemies directly, which means you’ll need to rely on elemental reactions. As such, a select few can be considered game-changers.
Geo Traveler
Bar none, the Geo Traveler is one of the best characters to have in Theater Mechanicus 2.0 (similar to how important he/she was in the event’s first iteration). Since the Traveler is the main character, all you need to do is head to any Statue of the Seven in Liyue so you can switch to the Geo element.
Once you start a match, simply wait in front of an enemy portal and cast your elemental skill to drop Geo Blocks. Up to three can exist at any given time, allowing you to construct obstacles that will prevent mobs from passing through lanes.
Kazuha
Kazuha is also another amazing pick for your Theater Mechanicus 2.0 runs due to his crowd control capabilities. His elemental skill has two instances that can pull/gather smaller mobs (the charge-up prior to the leap and the plunging attack afterward). Because of these, you can effectively keep hostiles bunched up while towers continue damaging them.
Ganyu/Ayaka or Mona/Xingqiu/Barbara
The usefulness of Ganyu in Theater Mechanicus 2.0 cannot be understated. Her elemental skill and charged shot blooms will affect hostiles with Cryo (combine this with Hydro pulses to freeze several foes). Ayaka also has a similar role. You can use her special dash move, then spam normal/charged attacks that are infused with Cryo. But, if you’re constructing lots of Cryo towers, you can bring Hydro characters such as Mona, Xingqiu, and Barbara to help apply the frozen status as well.
Note: I haven’t tested the numbers yet, but I’m not sure if Chongyun’s shatter still works and if he can directly damage mobs. Moreover, Jean is a viable option since she can push mobs off the stage. Unfortunately, I haven’t acquired her yet.
