Genshin Impact’s 1.1 update introduces Childe, Zhongli, and others

The next banner might be for these guys instead of Diluc. Sigh...
Genshin Impact Version 1.1 Update Reveal Trailer Childe Zhongli Xinyan Diona

If you’ve been giving Genshin Impact a go for the past month, you’ll know that miHoYo’s free-to-play, open-world RPG has lots of characters for you to try out. Now, it looks a few more combatants will join the roster once Genshin Impact‘s version 1.1 update arrives. The content update called “A New Star Approaches” introduces several characters such as Childe and Zhongli.

To be clear, these two are 5-star “gacha” grabs via Wish microtransactions. Indeed, Genshin Impact can be a very grindy and costly game if you’re chasing down these characters. In any case, you can watch the trailer for version 1.1 below.

Genshin Impact version 1.1: Childe, Zhongli, Xinyan, and Diona

Joining the fray as part of Genshin Impact‘s version 1.1 update is Zhongli, a fighter who uses the Geo element. I’ve genuinely disliked the element since it’s primarily for defensive elemental combos, but we might see Zhongli pull off some powerful moves. Zhongli also uses a polearm which is actually a surprise considering that Xiangling is currently the only wielder of this weapon type in the game.

Next, there’s Childe. You can already meet him in Liyue while doing the Rite of Descension quest, but the 1.1 content update will let you obtain him if you’re lucky. Childe is a Hydro-based combatant who shoots enemies with a bow. However, he’s able to manipulate water and use melee attacks too. He ends up with dual knives and a polearm made of water as part of his combos.

Apart from these two, there’s also Pyro-based Xinyan who slashes hostiles with her claymore. When using her skill, she’ll play her guitar that pops a shield leading to increased survivability. Lastly, there’s Diona, a bow user who’s empowered by the Cryo element. It seems she’s got a Molotov ability to lay waste to her foes.

The latest Genshin Impact reveal falls in line with the leaks compiled by Reddit user Polonoid75. The post mentions a reputation system that’s hinted at towards the end of the trailer, so we’re bound to see some nifty items by raising reputation in various regions. Perhaps another thing to look forward to is the fact that Fischl, a 4-star character, is obtainable as a reward from the upcoming “Unreconciled Stars” event. Fischl happens to be one of the best characters in the game. If you haven’t gotten her yet, then the event in Genshin Impact‘s version 1.1 update would be the best time to make her part of your roster.

Genshin Impact‘s version 1.1 content update, “A New Star Approaches,” is expected to go live on November 11. If you’re already exploring the world of Teyvat, don’t forget to check out our Genshin Impact guides and features hub.
