Genshin Impact Version 2.6 brings new characters and a map expansion

Going underground.

Genshin Impact is churning out another update with Version 2.6, this time bringing in new characters and a huge map expansion. This map expansion is the highlight of the update, with the debut of the highly anticipated area, “The Chasm,” which will add a whole new area to explore in Liyue. These map expansions are huge and can be compared to places like Dragonspine and Enkanomiya. Players will have tons to explore when Version 2.6 releases on March 30.

Version 2.6 will also see the addition of a brand new, highly-anticipated character, Kamisato Ayato. He’s the brother of Kamisato Ayaka and will likely work well with her in teams due to his Hydro element. We’re not just getting new characters, though. The fan-favorite character Venti will have a re-run, giving players another chance at pulling for Mondstadt’s archon. We’re also getting a re-run of Kamisato Ayaka, reuniting the siblings in one single patch.

A whole new area to explore

The Chasm area is described as a humongous area, with a “massive aboveground and underground space added.” Additionally, the update will add a new Archon Quest starring the Traveler twins and Khaenri’ah as a whole, hopefully advancing the story of the game and providing some more lore. We haven’t heard much about the twins in a while, so this is sure to be a fun experience for fans of the game’s story.

Finally, we’re heading back to Inazuma to experience a new festival that’s taking place in the region. Named the Magnificent Irodori Festival, it’ll be an event-packed festival with rewards like Primogems and the chance to win a Xingqiu for free. One of the final major updates coming is the addition of two new artifact sets, Echoes of an Offering and Vermillion Hereafter. Genshin Impact Version 2.6 will release on March 30. You can check out the trailer for the update below.
