I find it somewhat hard to believe, but GOG – formerly Good Old Games – is turning five. Five years old. Our little digital distribution service is growing up. I may weep.
Anyway: today marks the start of the birthday celebrations, with System Shock 2 available for a mere $2.49 for the next 24 hours, as well as a “High 5” sale lasting until this time next week. This particular sale lets you pick five games from a list of 25, and grab them for an average of 80% off.
For instance, Omerta: City of Gangsters with all DLC is $5. The original Amnesia: The Dark Descent is $4. The Blackwell Bundle, offering all four Blackwell games, is $4. The Cat Lady is $2. Stacking is $2. What I’m saying is that there’s quite a lot of quality on offer for cheap and you should go take a look.
These aren’t the end of the birthday celebrations, though. We’ve apparently got plenty of “contests, promos, gifts, specials” and new releases to come over the next few weeks, so if nothing in the current sale takes your fancy, you’ll have plenty more opportunities.
