Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Allegedly Leaked Before Reveal

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

I’ve been noticing a sponsored Ghost Recon ad within my Twitter feed for about a week now. I hadn’t paid much attention to it considering how sporadic my social media check-ins are. However, I finally took note of the tweet and realized that the big reveal for the next Ghost Recon title is coming tomorrow, May 9 at 11:30 AM PST. However, turns out this isn’t the only news that has surfaced thus far for a new title in the works.

Ghost Leak-on

Anyone who is remotely familiar with the internet knows to proceed with caution, especially when it comes to the reliability of the content you’re reading (except for us, believe all of our things). Recent reports indicate that the newest Ghost Recon title was leaked through an online Ubisoft advertisement. Even though the verbiage of the ad is written in German, the one clear piece of text that is readable is the title. You can clearly make it out at the top.

Listing, in German, for a special edition of Ghost Recon Breakpoint, the new game in the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series.

If the rumors are true, the next entry in the franchise will be titled Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. The game is said to feature main character Cole. D. Walker. Walker was first introduced in a Wildlands content update titled Operation Oracle, and it seems he may return now.

A post on Reddit detailed some of the events and story of the game. However, it was removed with swift action. It did, however, feature the above image on Reddit and, fortunately, a nice screen grab of the promotional material was saved.

The official reveal for the next installment in the Ghost Recon franchise will be fully revealed May 9. You can follow Ubisoft’s official page dedicated to the game on Twitter for future updates. The account has been more active recently, most likely to promote tomorrow’s events. Ubisoft’s official YouTube page will also host the event, along with Twitch.
