22Cans have been busy testing their crowd funded GODUS for quite a few months and news from the studio today is that a date has been set for the beta test to begin.

The game will enter its beta phase on 13 September and will include “significant game play enhancements from the Alpha” such as the multiplayer mode, more god powers, the start of the game’s story mode and basic AI opponents.

Backers of the game will receive and email from the GODUS team on 13 September which will include a Steam code so watch out for that if you’ve backed it.

In related news, the latest video with Peter and Jack is now online as excitement grows over the beta release. Peter is not actually in this one as he’s at PAX announcing the beta launch date today.
