Grime: Secrets guide -- Missable bosses, items, and upgrades

The world of Grime is filled with many secrets. You're likely to discover many of these as you're exploring, especially once you've acquired certain abilities. Still, there are a select few that are considered missable or really well-hidden. Here's our Grime secrets guide to help you with missable bosses, items, and upgrades. Grime: Secrets guide -- The missable bosses, items, and upgrades in the game To clarify, there are three special moves that you can acquire from certain bosses in Grime: Pull - Whispering Mothers (Lithic). Air Dash - Vulture (Feaster's Lair). Self-pull/grapple - Shapely Fidus (Carven Palace). There's also another ability that you can obtain much later. However, we're not allowed to discuss more details past a certain point in the game (just after opening the barrier in Carven Palace). My advice is simple: try to defeat all minibosses/optional bosses before you progress past that point. In any case, you can refer to the pages below for the zones in Grime that you need help with: Weeping Cavity: Otherwhere Phlox armor set and Crimson Ichor Unformed Desert: Desert Watcher and Crimson Ichor Lithic: The Rockgiants and Lithic armor vendor Feaster's Lair and Yr Den: Misbegotten Amalgam, Spinesnake, Owl vendor, and more Crimson Ichors Note: There are also other secrets, items, and weapons to discover in Grime. Weeping Cavity: Otherwhere Phlox armor set and Crimson Ichor The items in the Weeping Cavity can be obtained anytime as long as you've got the necessary items/skills. The Otherwhere Phlox armor set is found near the starting area in Grime. Go to the left of the starting point and break open the walls until you reach the bottom level. You need the Bellow Mace or a weapon that can do a ground smash to break the floor. As for the Crimson Ichor (a consumable that gives an extra Hunt Point), it's found past the Amalgam boss fight area. You'll air dash as you climb to avoid the spike traps. There's also a Skewer mob down below that can be killed for an extra Hunt Point. Anyway, let's talk about some of the stuff in the Unformed Desert in the next part of our Grime secrets guide. Unformed Desert: Desert Watcher and Crimson Ichor Although not missable, you could easily forget to return to this place. Go to the second save point in the Unformed Desert (Head Shell). You'll find the Desert Watcher at the top of the structure (+Breath Capacity). To its right, you'll see a collapsing bridge. Use the "Walk" perk from the Crawler to cross it. In my opinion, holding the alt key to walk is better than holding the left thumbstick. All right, let's talk about some of the missable bosses and vendors in Lithic in the next part of our Grime secrets guide. Lithic: The Rockgiants and Lithic armor vendor There are a couple of missable secrets in the Lithic zone of Grime, and they have separate triggers. The first one is the Lithic armor vendor (found to the left of the Lithic - Lower save point). The NPC gives you Hyaline armor pieces in exchange for the Lithic Portrait, Lithic Effigy, and Lithic Poem. Note: Be forewarned that you need to bring these items to the vendor before killing the Whispering Mothers boss. Otherwise, the NPC will despawn. The two Rockgiants (the Harmless Rockgiant and Grieving Rockgiant) are also considered missable bosses. Most players will probably end up attacking and killing the Harmless Rockgiant (+Breath Capacity) early on. As for the Grieving Rockgiant (+Breath Capacity), it'll show up only after speaking to the Immobile Rockgiant and killing the Whispering Mothers. But, it'll also despawn later in the game. Try to defeat it before opening the Carven Palace barrier. Note: In case the Grieving Rockgiant isn't in its spot, try to save your game and reload. In any case, let's talk about some of the missable stuff in Feaster's Lair in the next part of our Grime secrets guide. Feaster's Lair and Yr Den: The Spinesnake, Misbegotten Amalgam, Owl vendor, and more Crimson Ichors The Feaster's Lair zone in Grime has a couple of missable secrets. First, the Spinesnake is an enemy that only spawns during the Vulture boss fight. You'll want to absorb it to unlock its trait. Next, there's the Misbegotten Amalgam, a missable boss that upgrades your pull action so it can also grab item crystals. It's found to the left of the areas where you battled the Vulture and Jawcrab. Below the save point here (Feaster's Lair - Acid Weeper), there's a cavern with noxious fumes and insect-throwing mobs. At the bottom-left corner, you can do an air dash to reach the Misbegotten Amalgam's chamber. Make sure you beat it before you progress further past the barrier in Carven Palace. To the left of the Misbegotten Amalgam's chamber, you'll find a hidden passageway. You can use the self-pull/grapple ability to climb to the top (Yr Den zone). There's an Yr Sword Warrior and Crimson Ichor for 2x Hunt Points. Last but not least, you can check out a spot in between the Misbegotten Amalgam and Jawcrab/Vulture areas. There are floors here with dust coming out of them (seen in the map image above). These can be destroyed by swinging the Bellow Mace or any weapon with a ground smash. Eventually, you'll find the Owl vendor who sells some high-end stuff. Its wares include a couple of Crimson Ichors, some Breathdew consumables, the Bonebird armor set, and the Bloodmetal Scythe weapon. Note: Grime is available via Steam.
