In a twist this evening, it appears that the GTA V OpenIV modding tool which was pulled due to a cease and desist letter from Take-Two is about to return.

Spotted by the modding community this evening, the tool has received an update despite no official notice on the OpenIV website. This indicates that Rockstar’s intervention with Take-Two and discussions with the OpenIV team might have paid off. The recent review-bombing on Steam and the save OpenIV petition has likely had some impact in making Rockstar step in to try and resolve the issue.  Launching OpenIV this evening shows an update has been pushed live for users.

The fact that OpenIV has received even a minor update after being completely pulled is a positive sign. The GTA V community is now awaiting an official update on this from OpenIV. It’s looking promising though.
