A few days ago ArenaNet’s Eric Flannum stated that there were no plans to release stand-alone expansions Guild Wars 2 but this has apperently not yet been confirmed.
ArenaNet has issued a statement in reponse to the comments made in a recent interview adding that they had not yet finalised plans post-release.
“At present time the ArenaNet team is entirely focused on ensuring that Guild Wars 2 is delivered to the highest possible standards at the earliest opportunity, as such future plans for expansions, campaigns or additional content are still to be confirmed.
“As soon as we have firm information on content beyond launch we’ll share this via the PR team and our forums.”
So it appears that the comments made in the interview could have been taken out of context or simply misunderstood. I guess we’ll juat have to wait and see what ArenaNet decide to do once the game is launched.
