Guild Wars 2 players will be pleased to hear that the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns expansion will launch on 23 October.
With PAX now underway, the announcement coincides with a press conference which will take place on Saturday where  co-founder and president Mike O’Brien and game director Colin Johanson will share more news and details for the upcoming expansion.
The conference is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. PDT Saturday, August 29, in the PAX Prime Hydra Theatre at the Grand Hyatt in Seattle. Those of you not attending PAX you can point their browsers at the livestream which is taking place on both the PAX Prime Twitch stream and the official Guild Wars 2 Twitch channel.
The next Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns beta weekend is due to take place on 4 September for anyone that has pre-ordered or will be pre-ordering the game. Expect more details tomorrow once the press conference has concluded.
