Blizzard took down the Heroes of the Storm servers to apply another major update to the MOBA.

Blizzard has already said that the Tech Alpha will be rolling out to more player in regions outside of the US and in this update they once again reiterate this. The Hero Shop will now feature localised currencies such as GBP, Euros, Peso, AUD, Real, and Rubles.

This update also comes with a new hero Zagra and also comes with UI tweaks, visual improvements, battleground changes, and a whole host of Hero changes. Zagra comes with the following abilities.

  • Abilities:
    • Baneling Barrage (Q)
      • Launch a stream of Banelings that explode on contact with enemies.
    • Hunter Killer (W)
      • Unleash a Hunter Killer Hydralisk to attack and chase an enemy.
    • Infested Drop (E)
      • Bombard an area with a Zerg Drop Pod that spawns Roachlings.
  • Trait
    • Creep Tumor (D)
      • Spawn a Creep Tumor, which generates Creep and allows Zagara and her minions to move faster.
  • Heroic Abilities
    • Nydus Network (R1)
      • Zagara can place Nydus Worms and use them to quickly traverse the Battleground.
    • Devouring Maw (R2)
      • Summon a giant Maw to engulf enemies in an area, disabling and damaging them.

The patch notes are really lengthy so if you’re a real MOBA fan and want to get into the details for each hero then check them out in the full update.

If you have opted in for the Alpha test then our advice is to keep checking your BattleNet launcher to see if it’s been added. My access just suddenly appeared with no warning which was a nice surprise.
