A new year usually brings about new plans, and for Hi-Rez Studios, there are some huge plans in the making for 2021. For the company’s three games, Smite, Paladins, and Rogue Company, fans can expect significant content additions over the rest of the year. This follows a successful 2020 for the company and the development teams. The breakout success of Rogue Company definitely factored into it, and Hi-Rez Studios wants to continue in that vein for 2021.
For Smite, 2021 will bring about Season 8, the Dawn of Babylon. This will add the all-new evolving Babylonian pantheon Conquest map. This will be the first new map in three years. New Gods such as Tiamat and Gilgamesh will also be added. Players can also look forward to new battle passes, crossovers, and more esports action in 2021.
When it comes to Paladins, Hi-Rez Studios will add Season 4 in 2021. Calamity will add new champions, limited-time events, event passes, and more. More frequent updates will also be part of the plans. The first Champion being added in 2021 will be Yagorath.
As for the breakout hit that is Rogue Company, Hi-Rez Studios has a big year lined up. Four new seasons will take place throughout the year, each bringing about a new Rogue, maps, events, and more.
Overcoming challenges
It is definitely heartening to see the success of the company, especially in a challenging year. Both Paladins and Smite have been around for quite a while now, and have held their own against new competitors in their genres.
However, there is no doubt that the arrival of Rogue Company has given the company a boost. Despite being an Epic Games Store exclusive, the community has been growing and the overall sentiment remains positive.
With support continuing in 2021, Hi-Rez Studios is confident that more success awaits. Fans surely hope the same.
