How desperate do you have to be to buy MW3 for $1,725?

People look forward to games, this much we know. Some people look forward to games more than others. Then there are those people who look forward to games so much that they’re prepared to pay $1,725 to get a copy a few days early. These are the kind of people that have too much money and not enough sense.
As you can see from this eBay auction, a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has sold for $1,725. The game is released worldwide in four days…
The copy being sold is likely one of those mistakenly sold early by US retailer Kmart – a blunder that has resulted in Microsoft warning anyone with a copy that they may be banned from Xbox Live if they’re caught playing it.
Other sellers are listing ‘Buy It Now’ prices for Modern Warfare 3 that range from $63.99 to $249.99. I bet the guy that paid $1,725 feels kinda dumb right about now. Of course, there’s always the possibility that the bid was a joke and there was never any intent to pay.
