How to play Wordle, explained
If you’ve never played Wordle, it’s a free word game that gives you five guesses to get the five-letter word right. Each guess will gray out letters, make some yellow, or make them green. Green letters are the right letters in the right spot, yellow letters are the right letters but in the wrong spot, and gray letters are the wrong letters.
Over the course of five rounds, you need to guess the correct word by entering random five-letter words. The best words to start Wordle with are five-letter words with vowels and no repeating letters like pound, leapt, and reach.
Today is July 3, 2023, and I started Wordle with leapt. L, e, and t went yellow which means those letters are in the word, but not in the right spot. A and p are not in this word.
Next, the only work I could think of was tribe. I found out that t and e are still in the wrong spots and r, i, and b aren’t in this word. Because my word didn’t have an l, I didn’t get any information about that.
Lastly, I tried hotel and it worked immediately. All of the letters turned green which means they are in the right spot. Now that I know the Wordle answer for today, I can add hotel to my password and beat Rule 11.
