How to get Farosh’s Scale in Tears of the Kingdom

The first step to getting Farosh’s Scale in Tears of the Kingdom is to actually find Farosh itself. We have a guide on how to find Farosh, if you would like an in-depth look at how to do that. In brief terms though, you’re going to want to be looking in the bottom of the map next to the Gerudo Desert.

Once you find Farosh, it’s time to go and grab yourself some scales. The easiest and most painless way of getting Farosh’s Scales is to land on its back. This can be a bit tricky, but luckily Farosh’s path runs close to the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower, meaning you can spawn there, and hopefully catch Farosh in time.

After landing on Farosh’s back, you’re going to want to swing a weapon at one of its spikes. After swinging a weapon and hitting one of the spikes on the back, Farosh’s Scale will drop. You can only get one every so often, as the spikes need to be glowing for Farosh’s Scale to spawn. You can however just ride on Farosh until the spikes start glowing again.

If you position yourself on the spikes correctly, you can even follow Farosh down into the Depths and back up again. Luckily if you fall off doing this, there’s an updraft that keeps you in the air if you glide, so you can try and land back on its back, or continue to follow Farosh down/up Chasms regardless. They take a long time to become glowing again, but it is an easy way of getting Farosh’s Scales.
