How to get the Personal Touch Ingredient in Destiny 2

The in-game instructions say you must defeat enemies with ‘Melee abilities,’ but in my testing, that’s not entirely true. I’ve got several Personal Touches to drop with regular melee attacks. I found a nice, quiet spot on the EDZ and punched every enemy I encountered, but Personal Touches seem to have a very low drop rate.

I use a Banner of War Titan, which makes me almost invincible against regular enemies, so health was never a problem, but you can use any class you like.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to work with a Glaive. I tested this with a Glaive melee, but I got the Sharp Flavor ingredient instead, which is meant to be exclusive to Swords.

Another decent way to get the Personal Touch ingredients is through Eva Levante’s Bounties. If you pick the ‘Additional Bounty,’ you’ll earn random ingredients, including the Personal Touch. This isn’t a foolproof way to get the desired ingredients, but it may help with the low drop rates.

Make sure you’re using the Dawning event Ship

Eva Levante sells a ship that boosts your ingredient gains during the Dawning event. You can purchase the Starfarer 7M from the third page of Eva’s inventory, which costs Glimmer and Legendary Shards. Once you have it, make sure you equip the Ship to reap the benefits. The Dawning is a grindy event, and the Starfarer 7M is the best way to make it less punishing.
