As you progress through Destiny 2, you’ll come across Salvage Keys, which can help you open Salvage Chests. In order to get these chests, you must play the new 6 v 6 game mode: Salvage.

There are many ways to get the keys, but all of them require you to farm them as they’re not guaranteed on the first try. The easiest way to get a key is by leveling up your battle pass, it’s an early reward. You can also get them through vendor rewards at the H.E.L.M. and other activities.

Players are also having luck earning them in the multiplayer section. While not one hundred percent of the time, you have a somewhat increased chance of obtaining them by playing Crucible, Vanguard, and Gambit. However, you’ll still need to farm to get the keys, so be prepared to play for a while without winning one.

What do you get from the Salvage Keys?

These keys allow you to get high-level gear that goes across all three classes in Destiny 2. They’ll also benefit the different subclasses as well. If you are running a Hunter with Solar equipped, you’ll earn gear that accommodates that.

The good thing is that whenever you earn a Salvage Key and open up a chest, you’ll always get high-quality loot.
