Diablo 4: Can you pet the dogs? Explained

In Diablo 4, you most certainly can pet the dogs. Right when you get to Kyovashad, you’ll see a couple dogs running around the streets. No matter your class or your difficulty, you can pet the dogs fairly easily — easy once you know how, that is.

To pet a dog in Diablo 4, all you need to do is go up to a dog, open the Emote wheel, and select “Hello.” If you are close enough to the canine, you’ll reach down and greet the dog with a nice rub and a scratch.

Though it takes a few extra steps to pet a dog in Diablo 4 versus other games that give you the button prompt when approving a dog, we are happy to have the option to pet the dogs in Diablo 4. Hell is a cruel place; someone’s gotta give love to these pups.

While Kyovashad is the first big town you come across, it isn’t the last. Most towns have dogs in them which means anywhere you go, you can usually find a dog to pet.

Unfortunately, petting the dogs in Diablo 4 doesn’t give you some kind of kindness or invulnerability buff. Instead, petting the dogs is just a way to express yourself, show some love to digital dogs, and roleplay a bit more.

Be sure to show your friends how to pet the dogs so they don’t have to endure the cold world without the loving pets of demon slayers.
