This saw a new assault rifle get added to the battlefield, as well as the return of the fan-favorite Shipment multiplayer map for all to enjoy. Shipment is set to get a holiday makeover very soon. Here is how you can play the Christmas version of Shipment in Modern Warfare 2.

Shipment quickly became one of the most iconic and popular maps in the game when it first released all the way back in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. In Modern Warfare 2, the Shipment action takes place on board a cargo ship where the Christmas decorations are going up.

The only way that you can currently play the Christmas Shipment map is through a private match. When you’re in Modern Warfare 2‘s multiplayer section, select the Private Match option and choose ‘Create Private Match.’ Then, you can select the game mode that you want to play on Christmas Shipment. Once you’ve progressed past this screen, click the ‘Game Setup’ option and you’ll be able to change the map. Here, you’ll be able to select the Christmas version of Shipment and you can either load in against bots, your friends, or just explore the map yourself ahead of release.

The festive version of Shipment is expected to officially go live in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer on December 21, with the festivities continuing until January 4, 2023. This isn’t the only way you can celebrate the holiday season in Call of Duty, as the new Klaus operator bundle made its debut in the store along with two weapon blueprints and other cosmetics.
