Mega City: a neon metropolis of speed bikes, bright lights, and breakneck speed rails. The latest addition to Fortnite in Chapter 4 Season 2 brings all new elements to the game that has players zipping around and clipping headshots. With this update comes a few new challenges, too, just to keep players playing. One of the ones that have people scratching their heads is how to use a healing or shield item while grinding ledges. Flying along by the seat of your pants whilst downing a drink doesn’t seem that simple. Of course, the first thing you’re going to want to do is to find yourself a grind rail. These are only located in the new area of the map called Mega City. When dropping into the map, you’ll spot it in the southeast section. If you haven’t been to the location before, it’ll be shrouded in mystery until you have paid it a visit.
Get yourself equipped with whatever you can grab, but make sure a healing or shield potion is in your inventory. You might struggle to restore health or shield while on a grind rail with nothing to drink. Now head over to the nearest rail. You will spot these at almost every level around the area, from rooftops all the way to the ground. Find the closest one to you.
Getting on the rail isn’t too tricky, as the interaction boxes are pretty forgiving. This means that if you’re playing in the no-build mode you can still reach the slightly higher ones without an issue. Run up to the rail and hit the ‘E key’ or whatever you have ‘interact’ set to.
Once you’re up, whip out that potion and get chugging to restore health or shield while on a grind rail the same way you would on the ground. Make sure to keep your momentum up with the directional buttons or you’ll soon come to a stop and become an easy target.
