In Rocket League, riding on the walls and ceiling of a map comes second nature since you’re essentially playing in an arena with curved walls. In Rocket Racing, however, players will need to employ more technique and timing when it comes to wall and ceiling riding. When you see a part of the track that requires you to move vertically or horizontally, you’ll need to input a few controls quickly.

Press the jump button (“A” on Xbox, “X” on PlayStation), and while in mid-air press the boost drift button (“X” on Xbox, “Square” on PlayStation) plus the direction on your joystick that you want to attach to. When done properly, your car will flip in mid-air to the direction of your choosing, sticking you to either the walls or ceiling. Mind you, not every map has these types of jumps, and certain maps only include these parts in shortcuts.

Rocket Racing is all about learning the tracks and utilizing your skills to find the fastest way around the map. The harder the map, the more areas where you’ll have to ride on walls and the ceiling. So make sure to keep your eyes peeled on new tracks, you never know when you might have an opportunity to leapfrog your opponents. Provided of course, that you can make your jumps accurately.
