How to unlock Hyper Mode in Vampire Survivors

For when you really gotta go fast.

Hyper Mode is an extra modifier you can unlock in Vampire Survivors, and it applies changes to stages you’ve already beaten. The main change it applies is speed: in Hyper Mode, both you and your enemies will move a lot faster, demanding a lot more precision from you in order to avoid an early grave.

The trade off is that you earn a lot more Gold in Hyper Mode stages (at least 50% more), making it great to dip into for late-game Golden Egg farming. Hyper Mode needs to be unlocked individually for each of the game’s main stages, and this guide will teach you how to do just that.

How to unlock Hyper Mode in Vampire Survivors

Stage 1: Mad Forest

In order to unlock Hyper Mode for Mad Forest, you need to defeat the Giant Blue Venus enemy that spawns around the 25-minute mark in the stage. It’s a very slow-moving enemy, which makes it easy to defeat despite its large health pool.

With Hyper Mode applied in the Mad Forest, all MoveSpeed is increased by 100%, and Gold is increased by 50%.

Stage 2: Inlaid Library

You can unlock Hyper Mode for the Inlaid Library by defeating the Hag enemy that spawns around the 25-minute mark. Again, this is a slow-moving foe, but keep an eye on your positioning as it’s easy to get cornered in the narrow Library.

With Hyper Mode applied in the Inlaid Library, all MoveSpeed is increased by 90%, Luck is increased by 10%, and Gold is increased by 50%.

Stage 3: Dairy Plant

The Dairy Plant’s Hyper Mode unlock is protected by a giant Sword Guardian enemy, which spawns at the 25-minute mark in the stage. By this point you’ll likely be surrounded, so just keep distance between you and the Guardian and wear him down slowly.

With Hyper Mode applied in the Dairy Plant, all MoveSpeed is increased by 90%, Luck is increased by 10%, and Gold is increased by 70%.

Stage 4: Gallo Tower

To unlock Hyper Mode for Gallo Tower, you’ll need to defeat the Giant Enemy Crab that spawns at the 25-minute mark. This is an incredibly dangerous enemy, due primarily to its huge claws that grow as you damage them. The best strategy here is to position yourself below the Crab as often as possible, only moving above it when its claws are broken and replaced with new ones.

With Hyper Mode applied in Gallo Tower, all MoveSpeed is increased by 90%, Luck is increased by 10%, and Gold is increased by 80%.

Stage 5: Capella Magna

You can unlock Hyper Mode for Capella Magna by defeating the giant Trinacria enemy that spawns at the 25-minute mark. This is a fairly fast-moving enemy, so be prepared to move around a lot during the fight to avoid huge chunks of damage.

With Hyper Mode applied in Capella Magna, all MoveSpeed is increased by 100%, Luck is increased by 10%, and Gold is increased by 90%.

Stage 6: Mt. Moonspell

Vampire Survivors’ first DLC stage has a Hyper Mode variant as well. You can unlock it by defeating the Orochimario, a powerful multi-headed dragon that spawns in the stage at the 25-minute mark. This enemy is unique in that it has a ranged attack it can use, forcing you to keep moving when it’s nearby.

With Hyper Mode applied in Mt. Moonspell, all MoveSpeed is increased by 100%, Luck is increased by 10%, and Gold is increased by 100%.

Bonus and Challenge Stages

It’s worth noting that, in addition to giving you a new way to play old stages, unlocking Hyper Mode is also how you unlock the various Bonus and Challenge stages in Vampire Survivors. Here’s a list of which ones are unlocked, and when:

  • Il Molise is unlocked once you’ve unlocked Hyper Mode for one stage.
  • Green Acres is unlocked once you’ve unlocked Hyper Mode for two stages.
  • The Bone Zone is unlocked once you’ve unlocked Hyper Mode for three stages.
  • Moongolow is unlocked once you’ve unlocked Hyper Mode for four stages.
  • Boss Rash is unlocked once you’ve unlocked Hyper Mode for all five normal Stages.

Now that you know how to unlock Hyper Mode in Vampire Survivors, you’ll be able to turbo-charge your runs and bring back huge amounts of Gold. Just be careful that you don’t dash right into the midst of an enemy horde.
