Intel man says GTA 5 is coming to PC and “won’t be console exclusive very long”

It’s been a long few weeks for PC gamers hoping that some sort of announcement of Grand Theft Auto V on the PC would be forthcoming. There’s been discussions, debates, arguments and even a popular petition to bring the game to the PC.

Intel has joined the fray as  Chris R. Silva, Director of Marketing for Intel’s Premium Notebooks,  has now also commented on the GTA 5 console exclusivity that’s irritated so many PC gamers. Speaking to PC Gamer he says:

“At least with Grand Theft Auto I don’t think it’ll be console exclusive very long. But that’s what happens when you have a brand new launch with two companies that have lots of money trying to make sure they have content.”

Money is changing hands to keep it on the console at launch suggests Silva adding,  “Somebody paid a lot of money to make sure that title was exclusive” .

On the plus side, PC gamers are not exactly short of great AAA PC games, and with indie developers also coming up with creative and interesting titles, the PC platform is stronger than ever. If Sony and Microsoft have to part with a load of cash to keep games off the PC it does indicate that they’re more concerned about the PC and digital download market than they let on.

With GTA 5 having been out for a while now, the hype around the game has died down somewhat and PC gamers are now looking to the future. Some of the big titles of this year are still come out such as Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs and the new Call of Duty to name a few. There’s more than enough to enjoy to even be concerned about a PC release date for GTA 5 right now. It would be nice to see it on the PC but it’s not worth worrying about.

I’d say PC release is definitely possible. If you look in the xbox files there are references to PC. Example:
